Diablo 3 - Offline-Play für PS3/PS4 und kein Cross-Plattform-Play

Die PC- und Mac-Version von Diablo 3 erforderte eine dauerhafte Internet-Verbindung. Die jüngst angekündigte Fassung für PlayStation 3 und 4 wird dies offenbar nicht voraussetzen, dies erklärte John Hight von Sony in einem Interview. Ob das kontrovers diskutierte Auktionshaus ebenfalls seinen Weg auf die PlayStation findet, ist noch unklar. Seinen Angaben zufolge können bis zu vier Spieler auf einem Bildschirm spielen - dabei würde sich die Kameraposition etwas weiter vom Geschehen entfernen.

Des Weiteren werden PC/Mac- und PS3/PS4-Spieler nicht gemeinsam spielen können. Es wird kein Cross-Plattform-Play geben, heißt es im Battle.net-Forum. Die Charaktere der Battle.net- und PlayStation-Accounts werden ebenfalls getrennt sein. Zudem ist momentan kein Controller-Support für die PC-Fassung geplant. Die PlayStation 3-Version soll ebenfalls keine Unterstützung für Mouse und Tastatur (USB) bieten.

"While we think cross-platform play would be awesome, there are currently no plans to allow connectivity between PlayStation Network and Battle.net (this is pretty standard for most games that have PC and console support). As a result, the characters on your Battle.net account and PlayStation account will also remain separate. In terms of allowing an analog controller hookup for the PC, we don't have any plans for that kind of support right now. Similarly, since Diablo III for console was designed with a controller in mind, the PlayStation version of Diablo III will not support USB mice or keyboards." (Battle.net-Forum)
